Ok. Several of you have been lurking on my blog. Thank you. Thank you.
So far, though, I've have basically just shown pics of my cute kiddos and maybe a journal entry about our day.
Now, I need some advice from others on attachment.
I am having some trouble with Curley Q. She's 22 months and has progressed amazingly in most all areas. She's been home 3.5 months. I have one MAJOR area of concern. She is sooo friendly w/strangers, often wants to go to them, or if another mom is tending to their child, she wants THAT MOM's attention so that they won't pay attention to their own child. She is extra friendly w/men. Ok. She might just be a social butterfly, Right? The only problem is she is not wanting to come back to me. She chooses just about everyone, but me, to go to.
It kills me as her mother, but I've tried to take the approach..."My job is to love her, her job is not to love me." BUT it still hurts sometimes. Often, my confidence slips and those feelings of failure take over.
I never ever had this problem with my son. He is sooo shy.
Don't get me wrong, she is a sweetheart. She does show love to me, but again, it's always on her terms.
IS THIS NORMAL/NOT NORMAL...ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
LURKERS, COME OUT AND GIVE ME SOME ADVICE, PLEASE. THANKS.
Daily happenings in our lives as well as reflections on our experiences with Russian adoptions.

WHAT'S UP W/THE WEATHER????
What? Snow? You have to be kidding me. Weren't we just in our shorts playing in the yard
going on walks,
playing at the park?
This is what I get for not going somewhere on Spring Break! Teachers really should go on Spring Break, right? Well, my husband tells me that we took 3 Spring Breaks, but they were all in Russia. :)
So, now this is what it looks like in my house...PJ days and WWF is back!
No outside play, McDonald's Playland and Chucky Cheeze is totally out of the question not only b/c it's Spring Break and 5,000 kids will be there, but being a teacher, I need a break from a large quantity of children at one time. My two is perfect for the week.
I will, however, officially be on a countdown as of next Monday. Approx. 40 school days remaining until summer!!! Love my class, 1st graders are awesome, but this will be my first summer w/Budda and CQ. So excited for that!!!!

ZOO DAY
Yeah!!!! A beautiful day to enjoy the zoo...wait a minute. Did everyone else in the entire state get the SAME IDEA? OMG...so many people, so many lines, so many bees!!!! Yes, the kiddos enjoyed every second of it. (thanks for the help Kathy and Pat :))
I asked Budda Bean what his favorite part was. He said "Riding the train to see the elephants and donkeys" (I don't think there were any donkeys) Great buddy!
Miss CQ's favorite part was the food, I think.
That was when she was most happy.
I had forgotten that she had never been to a zoo, had never battled lines (except at Moscow/JFK airport), never had a coney dog, never seen dolphins swimming, or a big pool or tank, never fed a duck, seen large animals, AND had never even seen a BEE! I love being part of her firsts. She is so special.
Budda Bean has experienced just about everything. I think that we overloaded his brain his first year b/c we had wanted to share those types of things with a child for so long that when we finally got the chance, it was...the zoo, museums, parks, beaches, Disney Live etc.... Kids are so much fun, now for my nap. :)
